MY STORY

Britt Boardman, first female director for HBO Max’s South Side, brings a unique journey and passion for comedy to her directorial debut. Starting as a Script Supervisor on South Side, Britt's meticulous eye for detail, individualistic sense of humor, and strong work ethic led her to this significant role. Her close relationships with the show's creators and her dedication made her transition to Director possible.

Growing up near Chicago, Britt studied comedy at the Second City and i.O. theaters whilst working her way up in the television and commercial industry, earning credits on popular shows like Empire, Patriot, and 13 Reasons Why. Her directorial debut is a chance to provide an escape through storytelling and humor.

For aspiring filmmakers, Britt's advice is simple: persevere, keep moving forward, and embrace the rollercoaster of life. Her story is a testament to determination and following your dreams.

MY APPROACH

Britt Boardman's approach to filmmaking is rooted in attention to detail, a lens of humor, and a passion for storytelling. Her career started as a Script Supervisor, showcasing her commitment to maintaining on-set continuity and her ability to visualize scenes pre-edit.
